As promised, here are some pictures from my photography setting:
First here are two that I love that I did close up shots with and turned the flash off for:

Then I also took some in quick succession to see if that would help capture the perfect shot:

I started snapping when she started moving a bit. Just look at how much calmer her face got through the shots. I would have missed the peaceful sleep if I had just shot the first picture.
Finally, I took my favorite shot and softened it a ton by changing it to sepia and black and white. While I’m in love with the pink, I must admit that the black and white photo is just gorgeous. I can’t wait to scrap with it!

Amazing that we are at the end of another week. I had a blast creating the template and layout this week and can’t wait to share it with you:

I loved all the bright colors in the photos from this week, so I tried to do a more muted colored layout to make the pictures really pop.
Here is the layout in template form if you would like to download it.

Well, since I was out of commission for most of February we didn’t focus on any photography tips here that month. However, I’m ready to get back into it for March. And since I have a new addition to our family and hope to take a million pictures of her I thought that would be a great place to focus our attention. So this month we will learn about how to best photograph babies.
I found two articles at digital photography school to start with:
http://digital-photography-school.com/photographing-babies
http://digital-photography-school.com/baby-time-photographing-babies-without-loosing-your-mind
Today it is sunny out where I am and I’m just about ready to take the kiddos out to enjoy it. Here are the tips from these articles I’m hoping to follow with my camera while we’re out:
*Turn off the flash – easy to do in the sunshine outside!
*Focus on some portrait shots. We have a lot of life documenting shots so far so time to balance that out.
*Keep shooting. I may try the multiple picture setting on my camera and basically try again and again to get the right shot.
*Wear a hat. Perfect again since it is 40 degrees out.
*Take close ups. I love taking pictures of her tiny hands or ears or toes!
*When I get back I’m hoping to be able to play around with the coloring of the photos.
I’ll be back later this week to share my shots with you – can’t wait!

This week was also spent mostly hanging out with Rebecca. Always fun to take pictures of the new addition to the family:

Well, I disappeared again – so sorry, but I had a great reason. I had my baby! On February 13 we welcomed sweet Rebecca into the world. If you are interested in the story, you are welcome to read it on my personal blog: Mom With Mission.
In honor of her arrival, my week 8 layout is all about my new little girl!

And here is the template I made to share with all of you based on this layout. Enjoy and please leave me a comment if you download. :) Makes me feel loved.

Hope everyone is doing well with their 365 picture taking. I don’t have my layout done, but I didn’t want that to stop my sharing the template I’m using for this week.
Just click on the template to download and I’d love for you to leave a comment if you do!

My family (including me) has been sick all week as you will see in my upcoming layout. I do have a template for you all too, but it might be a day or two yet as we attempt to get better before I can get it all up for you all. :) So just bear with me.

Digital scrapbooking is not just great for creating layouts. You can also make cute desktop graphics for your computer desktop. For the last couple of years I have made my own to put up. This year I have been using some free desktops that different designers put out.
The first thing you need to do is to find out the dimensions of your computer desktop. For most computers you can just go to the desktop, right click on it and select properties. On my computer I then go to the settings tab and it shows the dimensions. Mine is 1280 x 800 pixels – so look for something similar to that.
The next thing you do is to create a layout (or download a layout) that is set to that pixel dimensions. Save it as a jpeg and then go back to that properties menu. For mine I just go to the desktop tab and browse and find the desktop I made and apply it to my desktop – super easy.
Here is the desktop I found from Shabby Princess:

And here is my version of it with my adorable little boys that is going up on my desktop today!

First of all, let me apologize for not getting on here and posting more this week. I should warn you that I’m now well into the last month of my pregnancy. No baby yet, but I have been having lots of random contractions, so while I try to get on here at least every other day, bear with me if I disappear suddenly for a few days. :) I’ll be coming back with some great new baby inspiration.
Now, onto my layout. Here is the layout for my 5th week. I’m continuing the pattern of having matching pages for each two weeks so this looks similar to last week, I just moved a few things around.
